Building Project 272 Ford Street Jacksonville
The following is a pictorial report on the progress made at the Crystal Coast Habitat building project at 272 Ford Street Jacksonville, NC. We hope to update the report weekly with each major building phase including pictures. Construction is being supervised by Marlo Construction who also provided the Lot for the building. The construction volunteers work at the site every Tuesday and Thursday. Currently the volunteers on this project have been active duty Marines as well as our regular volunteers (some are retired Marines). Work days are also scheduled on Saturdays for different volunteer groups.
Intial building phase has involved the Foundation and Floor system for the 1st floor.
Framing phase of first floor has also been completed.
The floor system has been added to the Second Floor and OSB sheathing added to the First Floor.

Second Floor partitions and OSB sheahting nearing completion.
The roof trusses have been added thanks to our volunteers.
We have started adding the roof shingles this past week.
Progress is now being made on the front porch with the roof being added.
The roof has now taken shape on the front deck, steps to be added.
Decorative posts were installed.
The back deck has been added, steps to follow.
The Exterior doors and windows have been added.
James Hardie blue fiber cement siding was provided by Jacksonville Building Supply and installation is being done now.
Drywall has been completed on both floors.
Siding is just about complete.
Inside painting has started.
Siding is complete and the yard has been graded.
The driveway has been graded with stone provided by Martin Maietta and sod has been layed in the yard.
Porch steps and railing are being added.

we are building at 272 Ford St. in Jacksonville every tues and thurs in the month of August, start time is 8:00 am and we end about 1:00 if you like to volunteer you may go to the site we are currently in the framing stage of the second floor thank you again Rosanne I will email you further details.
I was a part of the Marine group that worked on the 1st floor. I would like to help out some more but I’m limited on time due to deployments. I will be in Jacksonville for the majority of October.
